## CRA payment dates at a glance

The CRA payment dates below come from the federal benefits calendar on Canada.ca, which combines the Canada Revenue Agency schedule with the Service Canada schedule. Every date is the day the payment is **issued**. Canada.ca notes that a deposit can take a few days to show up in your account, and mailed cheques take longer.

Monthly benefits are listed first because most households receive at least one of them. Quarterly and twice-yearly payments follow in a separate table further down.

| Month | Canada Child Benefit | CPP and OAS | Canada Disability Benefit | Ontario Trillium Benefit |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| January | Jan 20 | Jan 28 | Jan 15 | Jan 9 |
| February | Feb 20 | Feb 25 | Feb 19 | Feb 10 |
| March | Mar 20 | Mar 27 | Mar 19 | Mar 10 |
| April | Apr 20 | Apr 28 | Apr 16 | Apr 10 |
| May | May 20 | May 27 | May 21 | May 8 |
| June | Jun 19 | Jun 26 | Jun 18 | Jun 10 |
| July | Jul 20 | Jul 29 | Jul 16 | Jul 10 |
| August | Aug 20 | Aug 27 | Aug 20 | Aug 10 |
| September | Sep 18 | Sep 25 | Sep 17 | Sep 10 |
| October | Oct 20 | Oct 28 | Oct 15 | Oct 9 |

Monthly benefit payment dates in Canada, 2026

For a single month with every payment listed, including provincial amounts, use the month pages such as [January benefit payment dates](https://canadapaymentdates.com/payment-calendar/cra-payment-dates-january), [July benefit payment dates](https://canadapaymentdates.com/payment-calendar/cra-payment-dates-july) and [December benefit payment dates](https://canadapaymentdates.com/payment-calendar/cra-payment-dates-december).

## CRA benefits payment dates for quarterly and periodic payments

Four CRA-run payments are not monthly. They come in two to four instalments a year, so they are easy to miss or to confuse with each other.

- **GST/HST credit:** paid January 5 and April 2, 2026 under its old name. It was replaced in July 2026 by the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (CGEB), which keeps the same eligibility rules.
- **Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit:** July 3 and October 5, 2026. The next payment is January 5, 2027, the date set in the CRA's CGEB guide, although the payment calendar has not listed it yet.
- **Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB):** January 12, July 10 and October 9, 2026. Together the three instalments pay up to 50% of your expected Canada Workers Benefit.
- **Alberta Child and Family Benefit (ACFB):** February 27, May 27, August 27 and November 27, 2026. The CRA pays it for the Government of Alberta.

Several provincial credits ride along with these payments. Nova Scotia's Affordable Living Tax Credit, the New Brunswick Harmonized Sales Tax Credit, the Newfoundland and Labrador Income Supplement and Seniors' Benefit, the PEI Sales Tax Credit and the Saskatchewan Low-Income Tax Credit are all paid together with the CGEB. Each province sets its own amounts and income limits.

## Which benefits the CRA pays and which Service Canada pays?

Two federal bodies send most benefit payments, and each has its own calendar logic. The CRA pays benefits and credits that are worked out from your tax return. Service Canada pays the public pensions and the Canada Disability Benefit, which start after an application or automatic enrolment.

### Paid by the Canada Revenue Agency

- Canada Child Benefit, including the Child Disability Benefit and provincial child benefits paid in the same deposit
- Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (formerly the GST/HST credit)
- Advanced Canada Workers Benefit
- Ontario Trillium Benefit, Alberta Child and Family Benefit and the Newfoundland and Labrador Disability Benefit

### Paid by Service Canada and Veterans Affairs Canada

- Canada Pension Plan retirement, disability, survivor's and children's benefits
- Old Age Security pension, Guaranteed Income Supplement, Allowance and Allowance for the Survivor
- Canada Disability Benefit
- Veteran disability pension, which Veterans Affairs Canada pays: Jan 30, Feb 26, Mar 30, Apr 29, May 28, Jun 29, Jul 30, Aug 28, Sep 28, Oct 29, Nov 27 and Dec 23 in 2026

The split matters when something goes wrong. A missing CCB deposit is a CRA question, while a missing CPP or OAS deposit is a Service Canada question. The [Service Canada payment dates](https://canadapaymentdates.com/payment-calendar/service-canada-payment-dates) page covers the pension side in more detail, and the [veterans disability pension dates](https://canadapaymentdates.com/payment-calendar/veterans-affairs-canada-payment-dates) page covers Veterans Affairs Canada.

## How government payment dates in Canada are set

Each benefit has an anchor day, and the date moves earlier when that day falls on a weekend or holiday. Knowing the anchor lets you predict roughly when money will land, even before a calendar is posted.

| Benefit | Usual day | When it moves | 2026 example |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Canada Child Benefit | The 20th | Earlier when the 20th is a weekend | Sep 20 is a Sunday, so paid Friday Sep 18 |
| Ontario Trillium Benefit | The 10th | Last working day before the 10th | Jan 10 is a Saturday, so paid Friday Jan 9 |
| CPP and OAS | Third-last business day of the month | December is set earlier | Jan 30, 29 and 28 are the last three business days, so Jan 28 |
| Canada Disability Benefit | Third Thursday | No weekend moves seen in 2026 | Thursday Sep 17 |

Anchor day and weekend rule by benefit, based on the 2026 calendar

### Why the December payments are early

December breaks the pattern. The CCB arrives on December 11 instead of the 20th, CPP and OAS on December 22, and the veterans pension on December 23. All three land before Christmas Day, which is a Friday in 2026. The trade-off is a longer wait until the January payment.

Long weekends can shift a date by one or two days. The [long weekend payment rules](https://canadapaymentdates.com/payment-calendar/benefit-payments-long-weekend) page lists the holidays that most often cause a shift.

## What to do if a payment is not in your account

Do not call on the payment date itself. The CRA asks you to wait a set number of working days after the listed date, because deposits and especially cheques can arrive late.

1. Confirm the date for your benefit in the tables above. Many people look for the CCB on the 20th in months when it was paid earlier.
2. Wait 5 working days for the Canada Child Benefit or the Alberta Child and Family Benefit.
3. Wait 10 working days for the CGEB, Ontario Trillium Benefit, ACWB and other CRA payments.
4. For CPP, OAS and the Canada Disability Benefit, Canada.ca asks you to wait 5 to 10 business days before contacting the program.
5. Check your direct deposit details and mailing address in CRA My Account or My Service Canada Account before contacting anyone.

> **Worked example:** Your CCB was issued Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Counting 5 working days forward (Oct 21, 22, 23, 26, 27), you can contact the CRA from Wednesday, October 28 if the money is still missing.

## When the 2027 CRA payment dates will be posted

As of October 20, 2026, Canada.ca lists only 2026 dates. The 2027 calendar for CPP, OAS, CCB, CGEB, OTB, ACWB, ACFB and the Canada Disability Benefit is **not yet announced**. The next year's calendar usually appears late in the year.

Some 2027 changes are already known. The CGEB is set to pay on January 5, 2027 under its quarterly schedule, and supplemental Canada Disability Benefit payments for newly eligible people are planned for winter 2027. The [2027 payment date tracker](https://canadapaymentdates.com/payment-calendar/upcoming-cra-payment-dates) shows what is published, what is not, and a clearly labelled projection.

## Common questions

### What day does the CRA pay benefits?

It depends on the benefit. The Canada Child Benefit is paid around the 20th of each month, the Ontario Trillium Benefit around the 10th, and the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit in early January, April, July and October.

### What government payments are coming this month?

In October 2026 the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit was issued on the 5th, the Ontario Trillium Benefit and the Advanced Canada Workers Benefit on the 9th, the Canada Disability Benefit on the 15th and the Canada Child Benefit on the 20th. CPP and OAS follow on October 28 and the veterans disability pension on October 29.

### Are CPP and OAS paid on the same day?

Yes. Service Canada issues CPP and OAS, including the Guaranteed Income Supplement and the Allowance, on the same date each month. In 2026 the shared date runs from the 22nd (December) to the 29th (July).

### Why did my child benefit come early this month?

The CCB moves to the previous business day when the 20th falls on a weekend, as it did on June 19 and September 18, 2026. The December payment is also set early; in 2026 it is December 11.

### Does the CRA post benefit payment dates for next year?

Yes, but not until late in the year. The 2027 dates were not yet on Canada.ca as of October 20, 2026.

### Is there a GST payment in November?

No. The CGEB, which replaced the GST/HST credit, pays in January, April, July and October. The last 2026 payment was October 5, and the next is January 5, 2027.
