CPP payment dates

Every CPP benefit, and every OAS benefit, is issued on that same day.

The maximum retirement pension at 65 is $1,507.65 a month in 2026.

Most people receive far less. The average new pension at 65 was $877.01 in April 2026.

Your own amount depends on your contribution years, your earnings, and the age you start.

CPP rises each January with inflation. The 2027 increase has not been announced yet.

The Ontario Trillium Benefit is issued December 10.

2027 dates are not out yet

As of September 2026, Canada.ca lists only 2026 payment dates.

That covers CPP, OAS, the Canada Child Benefit, the CGEB and every other federal benefit.

The next year's calendar usually appears late in the year before.

Until then, treat any 2027 date you see elsewhere as an estimate, not an official date.

Patterns help you plan: CPP and OAS near month end, the child benefit around the 20th.

We check Canada.ca regularly and update this page the day the real dates appear.

Why no official 2027 dates exist yet, when they usually appear, and how to plan in the meantime.

GST credit in Canada: what it is called now, how much it pays and when

The GST credit is still paid, but since July 2026 it has a new name: the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (CGEB).

New name since July 2026: Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (CGEB).

Maximum, single person (2026-27): $679 a year.

Maximum, couple (2026-27): $890 a year, plus $234 per child.

The GST credit is paid four times a year, in July, October, January and April.

No. The CRA describes the benefit as tax-free, so you do not report the quarterly deposits as income on your return.

The GST credit became the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit in July 2026. See 2026-27 maximums, payment dates, eligibility and provincial add-ons.
