CRA payment dates at a glance

The CRA payment dates below come from the federal benefits calendar on Canada.ca, which combines the Canada Revenue Agency schedule with the Service Canada schedule. Every date is the day the payment is issued. Canada.ca notes that a deposit can take a few days to show up in your account, and mailed cheques take longer.

Monthly benefits are listed first because most households receive at least one of them. Quarterly and twice-yearly payments follow in a separate table further down.

For a single month with every payment listed, including provincial amounts, use the month pages such as January benefit payment dates, July benefit payment dates and December benefit payment dates.

CRA benefits payment dates for quarterly and periodic payments

Four CRA-run payments are not monthly. They come in two to four instalments a year, so they are easy to miss or to confuse with each other.

• GST/HST credit: paid January 5 and April 2, 2026 under its old name. It was replaced in July 2026 by the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (CGEB), which keeps the same eligibility rules.
• Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit: July 3 and October 5, 2026. The next payment is expected in January 2027, but the exact day is not yet posted.
• Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB): January 12, July 10 and October 9, 2026. Each instalment is part of up to half of your expected Canada Workers Benefit.
• Alberta Child and Family Benefit (ACFB): February 27, May 27, August 27 and November 27, 2026. The CRA pays it for the Government of Alberta.

Several provincial credits ride along with these payments. Nova Scotia's Affordable Living Tax Credit, the New Brunswick Harmonized Sales Tax Credit, the Newfoundland and Labrador Income Supplement and Seniors' Benefit, the PEI Sales Tax Credit and the Saskatchewan Low-Income Tax Credit are all paid together with the CGEB. Which benefits the CRA pays and which Service Canada pays

Two federal bodies send most benefit payments, and each has its own calendar logic. The CRA pays benefits that are calculated from your tax return. Service Canada pays pensions and the Canada Disability Benefit, which are based on applications and contribution records.

• Canada Child Benefit, including the Child Disability Benefit and provincial child benefits paid in the same deposit
• Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (formerly the GST/HST credit)
• Advanced Canada Workers Benefit
• Ontario Trillium Benefit, Alberta Child and Family Benefit and the Newfoundland and Labrador Disability Benefit

Paid by Service Canada and Veterans Affairs Canada

• Canada Pension Plan retirement, disability, survivor's and children's benefits
• Old Age Security pension, Guaranteed Income Supplement, Allowance and Allowance for the Survivor
• Canada Disability Benefit
• Veteran disability pension, which Veterans Affairs Canada pays: Jan 30, Feb 26, Mar 30, Apr 29, May 28, Jun 29, Jul 30, Aug 28, Sep 28, Oct 29, Nov 27 and Dec 23 in 2026

The split matters when something goes wrong. A missing CCB deposit is a CRA question, while a missing CPP or OAS deposit is a Service Canada question. How government payment dates in Canada are set

Each benefit has an anchor day, and the date moves earlier when that day falls on a weekend or holiday. Knowing the anchor lets you predict roughly when money will land, even before a calendar is posted.

Why the December payments are early

December breaks the pattern. The CCB arrives on December 11 instead of the 20th, CPP and OAS on December 22, and the veterans pension on December 23. Christmas Day 2026 falls on a Friday, so these dates put the money in accounts before the holiday closures. The catch is a longer wait until the January payment.

Long weekends can shift a date by one or two days. The long weekend payment rules page lists the holidays that most often cause a shift.

What to do if a payment is not in your account

Do not call on the payment date itself. The CRA asks you to wait a set number of working days after the listed date, because deposits and especially cheques can arrive late.

1. Confirm the date for your benefit in the tables above. Many people look for the CCB on the 20th in months when it was paid earlier.
2. Wait 5 working days for the Canada Child Benefit or the Alberta Child and Family Benefit.
3. Wait 10 working days for the CGEB, Ontario Trillium Benefit, ACWB and other CRA payments.
4. For CPP, OAS and the Canada Disability Benefit, Canada.ca suggests waiting 5 to 10 business days, longer for a mailed cheque.
5. Check your direct deposit details and mailing address in CRA My Account or My Service Canada Account before contacting anyone.

When the 2027 CRA payment dates will be posted

As of September 18, 2026, Canada.ca lists only 2026 dates. The 2027 calendar for CPP, OAS, CCB, CGEB, OTB, ACWB, ACFB and the Canada Disability Benefit is not yet announced. The next year's calendar usually appears late in the year.

Some 2027 changes are already known. The CGEB should pay in January 2027 under its quarterly schedule, and supplemental Canada Disability Benefit payments for newly eligible people are planned for winter 2027.
