What was the CRA payment on June 5?
The June 5, 2026 deposit was a one-time top-up announced with the new Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit. It equalled 50% of the person's 2025-26 GST/HST credit, was based on the 2024 tax return, and was paid automatically to people who filed a 2024 return and were entitled to the January 2026 GST/HST credit. No application was needed.
According to the CRA, a family of four could get up to $1,890 and a single person up to $950 in 2026 once the top-up is counted. The top-up was a single payment. Nothing like it has been announced for June 2027, so do not plan on a June 5 deposit next year.
When is CPP paid in June?
CPP was paid on Friday, June 26, 2026, the same day as OAS and GIS. It is the last OAS payment at the April to June rate; the July payment carried the 1.2% increase.
June is also the final month that GIS is calculated from your 2024 income. From July 2026 it uses your 2025 return, so a senior who has not filed may see the GIS reduced or stopped starting in July.
Is there a GST or CGEB payment in June?
Apart from the one-time top-up, no. The regular quarterly credit is not paid in June. The first regular CGEB payment under the new name was July 3, 2026, followed by October 5, 2026. The CGEB is paid four times a benefit year, in July, October, January and April, so there is no regular payment in June 2027 either. After October 5, 2026, the next CGEB payment is January 5, 2027.
Provincial payments in June and the OTB single-payment option
The Ontario Trillium Benefit is normally paid monthly on the 10th. Two exceptions put some or all of a year's OTB elsewhere on the calendar, and one of them lands in June.
Other provincial payments in June
- If your yearly OTB is $500 or less, the CRA pays it in one lump sum in the first month of the benefit year, usually July.
- If your yearly OTB is over $500 and you chose on your return to get it in one payment, the CRA pays it at the end of the benefit year. For the 2026 benefit year that single payment is June 10, 2027.

Worked example
An Ontario renter whose OTB for the year works out to $1,080 can take it monthly, about $90 on the 10th of each month from July 2026 to June 2027, or ask for one payment of $1,080 on June 10, 2027. A neighbour entitled to $420 gets the whole $420 in July regardless. Read more in the Ontario Trillium Benefit guide.
- Child benefits inside the June 19 CCB: Ontario Child Benefit, BC Family Benefit and the Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, NL and PEI child benefits.
- Newfoundland and Labrador: disability benefit on June 25.
- Alberta: no ACFB in June; the May payment was the last of the year.
- Quebec: Retraite Québec, not the CRA, paid the Family Allowance on June 1, 2026 to monthly recipients (quarterly recipients were paid April 1 and July 2) and the QPP retirement pension on June 30. See the Quebec Family Allowance and QPP payment dates pages.
Last month of the benefit year
For the CCB, CGEB, OTB and most provincial credits, the benefit year runs July to June. June is the last payment at the old amount. Your CRA benefit notice for the new year shows the new amounts; if you have not received one, check that your return was assessed.
The June 2027 CCB will still use the July 2026 to June 2027 maximums: $679.75 a month per child under 6 and $573.58 for ages 6 to 17.
June 2027 dates
Official June 2027 dates are not yet announced. Using the published rules only, we project the OTB on Thursday, June 10, 2027 (also the single-payment date the CRA has already set) and the CCB on Friday, June 18, 2027, since June 20 falls on a Sunday. CPP and OAS dates will be confirmed when Service Canada posts the 2027 calendar.
What are the next CRA payment dates?
June is months away, so here are the next official dates on the Government of Canada benefits calendar as of October 22, 2026. Still to come in October: the NL Disability Benefit on October 23, CPP and OAS on October 28 and the Veteran Disability Pension on October 29.
| Benefit | November 2026 | December 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Ontario Trillium Benefit | November 10 | December 10 |
| Canada Disability Benefit | November 19 | December 17 |

| NL Disability Benefit | November 25 | December 24 |

| Veteran Disability Pension | November 27 | December 23 |
| Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit | None | None (next January 5, 2027) |
The canada.ca calendar does not list any 2027 dates yet, so the June 2027 dates above remain projections until it does.
If a June payment does not arrive
Wait 5 working days for a missing CCB and 10 working days for other CRA payments before contacting the CRA. Then:
- Check CRA My Account for the payment record and any notice.
- For the OTB, check whether you chose one annual payment, which would mean no monthly deposit.
- Confirm your direct deposit account is still open.
- For CPP, OAS or CDB, check My Service Canada Account.
If June payments look right but July's are late, see the July payment dates page; the ACFB returns on the August payment dates.
Common questions
What is the CRA payment on June 5, 2026?
It was a one-time top-up of the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, equal to 50% of the 2025-26 GST/HST credit. It was paid automatically to people who filed a 2024 return and were entitled to the January 2026 GST/HST credit.
Will there be another June 5 payment in 2027?
None has been announced. The June 2026 top-up was described as a one-time payment.
Why was the CCB paid on June 19 instead of June 20?
June 20, 2026 was a Saturday, so the Canada Child Benefit was issued on the Friday before.
When is the Ontario Trillium Benefit single payment made?
If your OTB is over $500 and you chose one annual payment, it is paid at the end of the benefit year. For the July 2026 to June 2027 year, that date is June 10, 2027.
When is CPP paid in June 2026?
CPP, OAS and GIS were paid on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Is there a GST payment in June 2027?
No regular one. The Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, which replaced the GST/HST credit in July 2026, is paid in July, October, January and April. The next payment after October 5, 2026 is January 5, 2027.
