Is there a GST or CGEB payment in July?

Yes. The July 3, 2026 payment was the first under the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit name. The CGEB replaced the GST/HST credit and uses the same eligibility rules and the same formula, with amounts 25% higher for five years (2026 to 2031).

For July 2026 to June 2027, the maximum is $679 a year for a single person, $890 for a couple and $234 for each child under 19. The amount is split into quarterly payments, so a single adult at the maximum receives about $169.75 each quarter ($679 divided by 4).

Check the CGEB payment dates page for the October and January instalments.

When is CPP paid in July?

CPP and OAS were issued on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. CPP amounts do not change in July, because CPP is indexed only in January. OAS is different: the July to September 2026 maximum rose 1.2% to $751.97 a month for ages 65 to 74 and $827.17 for 75 and over. For October to December 2026, OAS rose a further 1.4%, to $762.50 and $838.75 a month, starting with the October 28 payment.

Canada Child Benefit for July 2026 to June 2027

The July 20 CCB payment is the first one based on 2025 adjusted family net income. For a family below $38,237, the maximum is $8,157 a year ($679.75 a month) for each child under 6 and $6,883 a year ($573.58 a month) for each child aged 6 to 17. The CCB increase page shows how these compare with last year.

Canada Disability Benefit

From the July 16 payment, the maximum Canada Disability Benefit went from $200.00 to $204.20 a month. The working income exemption also rose, to $10,210 for single people and $14,294 for couples.

Provincial payments in July

  • Ontario Trillium Benefit: monthly payments for the new year begin July 10. If your yearly OTB is $500 or less, the CRA pays all of it in this first payment instead of spreading it out.
  • Ontario Child Benefit: up to $146.66 a month per child from July 2026, paid inside the July 20 CCB deposit.
  • New Brunswick School Supplement: $100 per child, paid in July 2026 to families with 2025 income of $20,000 or less.
  • BC Family Benefit: new monthly maximums of $145.83 for the first child and $91.66 for the second, paid with the CCB.
  • Provincial credits paid with the CGEB: Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and PEI credits arrived with the July 3 deposit.

If a July payment does not arrive or looks wrong

A July amount that looks wrong may reflect the new benefit-year recalculation rather than a deposit problem. If a payment is missing or much smaller, work through these checks in order.

  1. Confirm the CRA has assessed your 2025 return, and your spouse's or common-law partner's. Without both, the CCB and CGEB cannot be calculated for the new year.
  2. Look for a new benefit notice in CRA My Account. It shows the income used and the new monthly or quarterly amount.
  3. Wait the full period before contacting the CRA: 5 working days after July 20 for the CCB, 10 working days after July 3 for the CGEB.
  4. If a lump sum arrived in July and nothing since, check whether your yearly amount fell under the $240 CCB or $50-a-quarter CGEB limit.

Common questions

What benefits are paid in July?

In July 2026 the CGEB, Ontario Trillium Benefit, Advanced Canada Workers Benefit, Canada Disability Benefit, Canada Child Benefit, NL Disability Benefit, CPP, OAS and the veterans disability pension were all paid.

Why did my child benefit change in July?

The CCB is recalculated every July using the previous year's adjusted family net income. The July 2026 payment used your 2025 income, so a raise or a drop in 2025 changes the amount.

Is the July GST payment bigger this year?

Yes, for most people. The July 3, 2026 CGEB payment includes the 25% increase that applies from July 2026 to 2031.

Does CPP go up in July?

No. CPP only increases in January. OAS is the pension that is adjusted in July, and it rose 1.2% for July to September 2026.

Why did I get one big OTB payment in July?

If your yearly Ontario Trillium Benefit is $500 or less, the CRA pays it in a single payment in the first month of the benefit year, which is usually July.
