Short answer

What benefits are paid in September?

When is CPP paid in September?

CPP is paid on Friday, September 25, 2026. OAS, the Guaranteed Income Supplement and both Allowance programs arrive the same day. The CPP maximum retirement pension at 65 is still $1,507.65 a month; CPP amounts only change in January.

September is the last OAS payment at the July to September 2026 rate: up to $751.97 a month at ages 65 to 74 and $827.17 at 75 and over. A single senior aged 65 to 74 with the maximum OAS and the maximum GIS of $1,123.17 would receive $1,875.14 on September 25. From the October 28, 2026 payment, the October to December rates apply: up to $762.50 a month at 65 to 74, $838.75 at 75 and over, and a GIS of up to $1,138.90 for a single senior, so the same senior would receive up to $1,901.40.

Canada Child Benefit on September 18

The CCB normally lands on the 20th. In 2026 the 20th of September is a Sunday, so the payment moves to Friday, September 18. This is the third payment of the July 2026 to June 2027 benefit year, so the amount matches your July and August deposits unless something in your file changed.

Canada Disability Benefit on September 17

The regular CDB is up to $204.20 a month for July 2026 to June 2027. Every 2026 CDB date falls on a Thursday, and September's is the 17th.

What is different about September: the CDB supplement and an early CCB

Two things set September 2026 apart. First, the one-time supplemental Canada Disability Benefit payment of $150 began going out on September 17. It is automatic and is paid once for each approved Disability Tax Credit certificate that qualifies someone for the CDB. People who become eligible later are scheduled to receive it in winter 2027; the exact date has not been announced.

A person getting the full monthly CDB who is included in the first supplemental run would receive $204.20 plus $150, or $354.20, from the program in mid-September. The CDB supplemental payment page explains who qualifies.

Second, the early CCB date. Families who budget around the 20th will see the money two days sooner. Labour Day (September 7) and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30) do not move any September 2026 payment, because no benefit is scheduled on either day.

Is there a GST or CGEB payment in September?

No. The GST/HST credit became the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit in July 2026, and it is still paid four times a year. The 2026 payments were July 3 and October 5, so September sits in the gap. The Advanced Canada Workers Benefit is also absent; its next payment came on October 9.

Details on the next deposit are on the October payment dates page and the CGEB payment dates page.

Provincial payments in September

  • Ontario: the OTB on September 10 (the 10th was a Thursday, so no shift), and the Ontario Child Benefit of up to $146.66 a month per child inside the September 18 CCB.
  • British Columbia: the BC Family Benefit is combined with the September 18 CCB deposit.
  • Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, PEI: provincial child benefits are included in the September 18 CCB.
  • Newfoundland and Labrador: the NL Disability Benefit of up to $400 a month is paid September 25.
  • Alberta: no ACFB this month; the next payment is November 27.

September 2027 dates

September 2027 dates are not yet announced; canada.ca usually adds the next year's calendar late in the year. Using the published rules only, our projection is the OTB on Friday, September 10, 2027 and the CCB on Monday, September 20, 2027. Treat these as projections until they appear on canada.ca.

If a September payment does not arrive

Payments are issued on the listed dates but can take a few days to reach your account, and mailed cheques take longer. Before calling, count business days, not calendar days.

  1. Check the payment status in your CRA My Account or My Service Canada Account.
  2. For the CCB, wait 5 working days. A September 18 CCB is not late until after Friday, September 25.
  3. For the OTB and other CRA benefits, wait 10 working days after the listed date.
  4. For CPP, OAS and the Veteran Disability Pension, the benefits calendar asks you to wait 5 to 10 business days.
  5. Confirm your address and banking details are current, then contact the program that pays the benefit.

The benefit payment not received guide walks through each program. Looking further ahead, the November payment dates page covers the Alberta ACFB quarter and the PEI benefit name change.

Common questions

Why is the CCB paid on September 18 instead of the 20th?

September 20, 2026 is a Sunday. When the 20th falls on a weekend, the CCB is paid on the last business day before it, which is Friday, September 18.

Did the $150 CDB supplemental payment come with the September CDB?

The supplemental payments started on September 17, 2026, the same day as the regular September CDB. It is paid automatically once per qualifying Disability Tax Credit certificate.

When is OAS paid in September 2026?

OAS, GIS and the Allowance are paid on Friday, September 25, 2026, the same day as CPP.

Where can I find CRA payment dates for September 2025?

Those dates have passed and canada.ca now lists 2026 dates only. If a September 2025 payment never arrived, contact the CRA or Service Canada about that specific payment.

Is there a GST payment in September 2026?

No. The Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, which replaced the GST/HST credit, was paid July 3 and October 5, 2026, and is next paid January 5, 2027.
