March payment dates table

March is one of the quietest months on the CRA payment calendar. Every deposit in March 2026 was a regular monthly benefit, and none of the quarterly or three-times-a-year payments landed in this month. The dates below are the official 2026 dates from canada.ca.

March 2026 benefit payment dates (official)
BenefitDateDayFrequency
Ontario Trillium BenefitMarch 10TuesdayMonthly
Canada Disability BenefitMarch 19ThursdayMonthly
Canada Child Benefit (with provincial child benefits)March 20FridayMonthly
NL Disability BenefitMarch 25WednesdayMonthly
CPP, OAS, GIS and the AllowanceMarch 27FridayMonthly
Veteran Disability PensionMarch 30MondayMonthly

CPP and OAS landed on March 27 rather than in the last few days of the month, so the veterans pension was the final federal deposit of March. For the whole year in one table, use the CRA payment dates calendar.

When is CPP paid in March?

CPP was paid on Friday, March 27, 2026, the same day as Old Age Security and the Guaranteed Income Supplement. March is the last month of the January to March OAS quarter, so the OAS amount in the March deposit matches January and February.

The first change of the year for OAS comes in April, when the quarterly cost-of-living review can raise the amount. CPP stays at the January rate for all twelve months, so a CPP deposit in March 2026 should match every other 2026 deposit unless your benefit type changed.

Is there a GST or CGEB payment in March?

No. There was no GST/HST credit or CGEB payment in March 2026. The quarterly credit skipped from January 5 to April 2, and the Advanced Canada Workers Benefit is not paid in March either. Alberta's ACFB also skips March because its quarters fall in February and May.

If you are counting on a quarterly amount, the April payment dates page shows the next one. The February payment dates page covers the ACFB quarter that came just before.

Provincial payments in March

  • Ontario: OTB on March 10; the Ontario Child Benefit inside the CCB on March 20.
  • British Columbia: the BC Family Benefit is combined with the CCB into one monthly payment on March 20.
  • Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, PEI: child benefits paid inside the March 20 CCB deposit.
  • Newfoundland and Labrador: provincial disability benefit on March 25.
  • Alberta: no ACFB payment this month.

What is different about March: tax season sets your July amounts

March payments do not change, but what you do in March changes the payments you get from July. The CCB, CGEB and most provincial credits for July 2027 to June 2028 will be calculated from your 2026 tax return, so a return filed in March or April is what keeps those payments flowing without a gap.

Filing deadline and pre-filled returns

For the 2025 tax year, the deadline for most people was April 30, 2026. For the 2026 tax year, the CRA plans to start a pre-filled return service for eligible lower-income people in March 2027, aimed at about 1 million people in the first year and about 5.5 million by the 2028 tax year. The CRA's automatic filing page lists who is included.

Worked example: a Canada Disability Benefit payment in March

The maximum CDB for July 2025 to June 2026 was $200 a month. A single person with $28,000 of adjusted family net income and no working income is $5,000 over the $23,000 threshold. The benefit drops by 20% of that excess, or $1,000 a year, which is about $83.33 a month, so the March 2026 payment would be about $116.67. Working income up to the exemption is left out of this test.

March 2027: dates not yet published

Official March 2027 dates had not been posted as of September 18, 2026. Canada.ca usually publishes the next year's calendar late in the year. Based on published rules only, our projections are:

March 2027 projections (not official)
BenefitProjected dateWhy
OTBWednesday, March 10, 2027The 10th is a weekday
CCBFriday, March 19, 2027The 20th is a Saturday, so the payment is expected a day early

Treat these as estimates until canada.ca lists them. The upcoming CRA payment dates page shows only confirmed dates.

If a March payment does not arrive

Deposits can take a few days after the issue date. Wait 5 working days for a missing CCB and 10 working days for other CRA benefits such as the OTB before you contact the CRA.

  1. Sign in to CRA My Account and open the benefit payment history to see whether a payment was issued.
  2. Check for an unfiled return from a prior year, which is a common reason a payment is held.
  3. If CPP or OAS is missing, check My Service Canada Account for the deposit record.
  4. Call the agency that pays the benefit only after the waiting period has passed.

For each situation, see what to do when a benefit payment is not received.

Common questions

What benefits are paid in March?

Only monthly benefits: the OTB, CDB, CCB and provincial child benefits, CPP, OAS and GIS, the NL Disability Benefit and the veterans disability pension. No quarterly payments fall in March.

What day is the CCB paid in March 2026?

The Canada Child Benefit was paid on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Is CPP paid at the end of March?

In 2026, CPP was paid on Friday, March 27, not on the last day of the month. CPP dates are set by Service Canada each year and usually fall in the last week.

Why did my GST credit not come in March?

The credit is not paid in March. In 2026 it was paid on January 5 and April 2 under the GST/HST credit name, and from July as the CGEB.

Should I file my taxes in March to keep getting benefits?

Filing early helps. Benefits from July onward are calculated from the previous year's return, so filing well before the April 30 deadline gives the CRA time to calculate your July amounts.
