What are the QPP payment dates for 2026?
Retraite Québec publishes one calendar for every benefit under the Québec Pension Plan: the retirement pension, disability benefits and survivors' benefits all arrive on the same day. Its rule is that the pension is generally paid on the last working day of each month. The table lists the 2026 Quebec Pension Plan payment dates exactly as Retraite Québec posts them, with the weekday added.
| Month | Payment date | Weekday |
|---|---|---|
| January | January 30 | Friday |
| February | February 27 | Friday |
| March | March 31 | Tuesday |
| April | April 30 | Thursday |
| May | May 29 | Friday |
| June | June 30 | Tuesday |
| July | July 31 | Friday |
| August | August 31 | Monday |
| September | September 29 | Tuesday |
| October | October 30 | Friday |
| November | November 30 | Monday |
| December | December 30 | Wednesday |
Two of the twelve dates are earlier than the last weekday of the month. In September the payment is on Tuesday the 29th rather than Wednesday the 30th, and in December it is on Wednesday the 30th rather than Thursday the 31st. Because the rule is only what happens in general, rely on the published date rather than counting back from the end of the month yourself.
When is the next QPP payment?
The next QPP payment is Friday, October 30, 2026. After that come Monday, November 30 and Wednesday, December 30, the last deposit of the year. Most Quebec retirees also get Old Age Security, which Service Canada pays on a different day, so the end of each month usually brings two separate deposits.

| Month | QPP (Retraite Québec) | OAS and GIS (Service Canada) |
|---|---|---|
| October | Friday, October 30 | Wednesday, October 28 |
| November | Monday, November 30 | Thursday, November 26 |
| December | Wednesday, December 30 | Tuesday, December 22 |
OAS and the Guaranteed Income Supplement are federal, so the OAS payment dates are the same in Quebec as everywhere else in Canada. For October to December 2026, OAS pays up to $762.50 a month at 65 to 74 and $838.75 at 75 and over.
Why are QPP and CPP paid on different days?
The two plans are run by different governments. Service Canada pays the Canada Pension Plan on a business-day schedule near the end of the month, which puts the rest of the 2026 CPP deposits on October 28, November 26 and December 22. Retraite Québec pays the Québec Pension Plan on its own calendar, so the CPP payment dates do not apply to QPP pensions.
The Government of Canada says the CPP and the QPP work together so that every contributor receives a retirement pension. It tells you to deal with Retraite Québec, not Service Canada, in these situations:
- You have only worked in Quebec.
- You worked in Quebec and in at least one other province or territory, and you live in Quebec.
- You worked in Quebec, now live outside Canada, and your last province of residence was Quebec.
If you contributed to both plans and live elsewhere in Canada, you apply to the CPP instead and are paid on the CPP dates. In other words, where you live when you apply decides which plan handles your application, and therefore which calendar your pension follows.
What are the QPP payment dates for 2027?
Retraite Québec had not posted its 2027 payment dates as of October 20, 2026; its calendar showed 2026 only. We do not project the 2027 dates here, because two of the 2026 dates did not follow the simple last-weekday pattern, and a guessed date is no help when you are planning a bill payment.
The January 2027 increase is also still to come. QPP benefits were indexed by 2.0% on January 1, 2026, the same rate as the CPP. The rate for January 2027 has not been announced; once it is, it applies to QPP pensions from the January payment. The federal side of the same question is covered on the CPP increase 2027 page.
How much is the QPP retirement pension in 2026?
Your own amount depends on your contributions and the age at which you start. The maximums below are Retraite Québec's 2026 figures for a pension that starts during 2026. The maximum at 65 includes the additional plan; the base-plan maximum at 65 alone is $1,441.25.

| Pension starts at | Share of the maximum | Maximum per month |
|---|---|---|
| Age 60 | 64% | $964.90 |
| Age 65 | 100% | $1,507.65 |
| Age 72 | 158.8% | $2,394.15 |
The QPP can be postponed to 72, which is why its table runs past 70. Retraite Québec also lists a maximum death benefit of $2,500 for 2026. To see the amount you are actually paid, sign in to My Account on the Retraite Québec website, which shows amounts paid and estimates.
What should you do if a QPP payment is late?
Start by comparing today's date with the table above: a payment is only late once the published date has passed. If it has, these checks cover the usual causes.
- Confirm the date for the month, especially in September and December, when the payment comes earlier than the last weekday.
- Sign in to My Account on the Retraite Québec website to see the amount paid and the bank account on file.
- If you changed banks or branches, update your banking information in My Account so the next deposit goes to the right account.
- Do not send banking changes by email: Retraite Québec does not accept requests to change your file by email.
- Call the Québec Pension Plan line, open Monday to Friday: 418 643-5185 in the Québec area, 514 873-2433 in the Montréal area, or 1 800 463-5185 toll-free.
Other Retraite Québec payments follow different days. Public-sector pensions such as RREGOP are paid on the 15th (October 15, November 13 and December 15 in 2026), and the Quebec family allowance is paid at the start of the month. For a missing federal payment such as OAS, use the benefit payment not received checklist instead.
