What are the OTB payment dates for 2026?

The Ontario Trillium Benefit payment dates for 2026 fall on the 10th in nine months and on an earlier Friday in three. The full list below comes from the Government of Canada benefits calendar, checked in September 2026.

The payments from July 2026 onward belong to the 2026 benefit year and are calculated from your 2025 return. January to June 2026 payments were the second half of the previous benefit year, based on 2024 income.

Why is the OTB paid on the 8th or 9th in some months?

The CRA's rule is written into its Ontario program page: the OTB is issued on the 10th, and if the 10th is a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, it is issued on the last working day before. Payments never move later, only earlier.

In 2026 the rule moved three payments. None moved because of a holiday alone; each 10th landed on a weekend. The same weekend logic moves other federal payments, which is covered on the benefit payments on long weekends page.

When is the next OTB payment?

The next OTB payment is Tuesday, November 10, 2026, followed by Thursday, December 10, the last one of the year. The October payment went out on Friday, October 9, one day early because the 10th fell on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.

October was a heavy deposit month for Ontario households: the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit arrived October 5, and the Advanced Canada Workers Benefit went out the same day as the OTB. The Ontario benefit payment dates hub puts every Ontario and federal date side by side.

When is the June 10, 2027 single payment?

The single OTB payment for the 2026 benefit year will be issued on June 10, 2027, which is a Thursday. The CRA has already confirmed this date, so it is the one 2027 OTB date you can rely on today.

You get the single payment only if your annual OTB is more than $500 and you ticked box 61060 on Form ON-BEN with your 2025 return. If your entitlement is $500 or less, the CRA ignores the box and pays you once in July instead. Your notice of determination shows which schedule applies to you. What are the OTB payment dates for 2027?

Apart from June 10, the 2027 OTB payment schedule is not yet announced. Canada.ca shows 2026 dates only as of October 20, 2026 and usually adds the new year late in the year.

The weekend rule makes the likely dates easy to project. The table applies it to the 2027 calendar; it is a projection only, and a provincial or federal holiday could shift a date further.

When does your first OTB payment arrive if you file late?

If your 2025 return was assessed after June 19, 2026, the CRA says to expect your first OTB payment 4 to 8 weeks after the assessment, with the missed months included. After that you move onto the regular 10th-of-the-month schedule. A late Form ON-BEN has the same effect: the rent or property tax part of the payment, the Ontario energy and property tax credit, only starts once the CRA processes the form.

• Annual amount of $2 or less: no payment is issued.
• Annual amount from $2.01 to $10: one $10 payment.
• Annual amount up to $500: one payment in July, or with your first payment if assessed later.
• Annual amount over $500: monthly, or June 10, 2027 if you elected it.

The OTB goes to the same bank account the CRA uses for your refund and other credits.
