Canada Child Benefit calculator for July 2026 to June 2027
Short answer
This Canada child benefit calculator estimates your CCB for July 2026 to June 2027. Enter your 2025 adjusted family net income, the number of children under 6 and aged 6 to 17, and any child eligible for the disability tax credit. It applies the CRA's published maximums ($8,157 and $6,883 per child) and reduction rates, then shows a yearly and monthly estimate.

How to use this Canada child benefit calculator
The estimator needs four numbers, and all of them are on documents you already have. The most important is income, and it must be the right year: payments from July 2026 to June 2027 are based on 2025 income, not what you earn now.
- Find line 23600 (net income) on your 2025 notice of assessment. If you have a spouse or common-law partner, add line 23600 from their 2025 notice. Enter the total as adjusted family net income.
- Enter how many children under 6 live with you, and how many are aged 6 to 17. Use their ages for the month you want to estimate.
- Enter the number of children approved for the disability tax credit, if any.
- Tick shared custody only if a child lives with you between 40% and 60% of the time.
- Read the yearly and monthly estimate, then compare it with the amount in your CRA account.
If you have UCCB or RDSP income in 2025, subtract it from line 23600 before entering the total, because the CRA leaves those amounts out of adjusted family net income. Most families will not have either.

CCB calculator formula and 2026-27 rates
The CCB payment calculator follows the CRA's method in three stages. It adds up the maximum for every child, calculates one family reduction based on income and the number of children, and subtracts the reduction from the total.

The reduction counts all eligible children together. A family with two children uses the 13.5% rate whether the children are toddlers or teenagers; only the starting maximum changes with age.
Worked example with the CCB calculator
Take a family with three children aged 7, 10 and 14 and 2025 adjusted family net income of $90,000. Here is each step of the calculation.
| Step | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Full amount | 3 x $6,883 | $20,649 |
| Income over second threshold | $90,000 - $82,847 | $7,153 |
| Reduction | $8,476 + 8% x $7,153 | $9,048.24 |
| Yearly CCB | $20,649 - $9,048.24 | $11,600.76 |
| Monthly CCB | $11,600.76 / 12 | $966.73 |
Two more quick estimates
- Single parent, one child aged 4, income $52,000: $8,157 minus 7% of $13,763 ($963.41) = $7,193.59 a year, about $599.47 a month. With 50% shared custody, each parent would get about $299.73 a month for that child.
- Two children aged 1 and 3, income $120,000: $16,314 minus ($6,022 + 5.7% of $37,153) = $8,174.28 a year, about $681.19 a month.

What income does the CCB eligibility calculator use?
People often enter their current salary or take-home pay, which gives the wrong answer. The CRA uses net income after deductions such as RRSP contributions and child care expenses, from the tax return two calendar years before the benefit year ends.
- July 2026 to June 2027 payments: 2025 income.
- July 2027 to June 2028 payments: 2026 income, with rates not yet announced.
- A raise in 2026 will not change your payment until July 2027.
- An RRSP contribution claimed on your 2026 return lowers net income and can raise your July 2027 CCB.
The calculator cannot tell you whether you qualify in the first place. Immigration status, residency and who is primarily responsible for the child all matter, so read the CCB eligibility rules if you are unsure.
Limits of any CCB estimate
This tool gives an estimate, not an entitlement. The CRA's notice of determination is the only official figure. Your real amount can differ for these reasons:
- Provincial and territorial child benefits paid in the same deposit are not included.
- The Child Disability Benefit is shown at its maximum; it can be lower at higher incomes.
- A change in marital status, custody or a child's age during the year changes the monthly amount from that point.
- Overpayment recovery reduces what is deposited.
- July 2027 amounts will use new, indexed rates that are not yet announced; the CCB increase page covers the timing.
The CRA also offers a child and family benefits calculator on canada.ca that includes provincial programs. Use it alongside this one if you live in a province with its own child benefit. For payment dates and applying, start at the Canada Child Benefit guide.

Common questions
How do I calculate my CCB?
Add $8,157 for each child under 6 and $6,883 for each child aged 6 to 17. If your 2025 adjusted family net income is over $38,237, subtract the reduction for your number of children, then divide by 12 for the monthly amount.
What income is used for the CCB calculation?
Adjusted family net income from your and your partner's 2025 returns, which is line 23600 for each of you with small adjustments for UCCB and RDSP income. It is not gross salary or take-home pay.
Is this CCB calculator the same as the CRA's calculator?
No. It uses the same federal rates, but the CRA's child and family benefits calculator also estimates provincial benefits and other credits. The CRA's notice is the final word.
Can I use a CCB calculator for 2027?
Only roughly. As of October 22, 2026, the CRA has not published the July 2027 maximums or thresholds, so any 2027 figure is a guess until it releases the indexed rates, usually before July. The income that will count is already fixed: your 2026 adjusted family net income.
Why does the calculator show one payment instead of monthly?
If the yearly total is under $240, the CRA pays it in one lump sum with the July payment instead of spreading it over 12 months.
Is a child tax credit calculator the same as a CCB calculator?
In Canada, usually yes: many people still call the CCB the child tax benefit or child tax credit, and this calculator estimates it. The US Child Tax Credit is a different credit claimed on a US federal tax return, and this page does not estimate it.
Does this calculator include the Quebec Family Allowance?
No. It estimates only the federal CCB. The Quebec Family Allowance is paid by Retraite Québec, not the CRA, with its own amounts and payment dates; see Family Allowance in Quebec.
