CCB payment dates 2026

These are the CRA's official CCB payment dates for the 2026 calendar year. The date is when the CRA issues the payment. Canada.ca notes that a payment can take a few days to arrive after it is issued, and a mailed cheque usually takes longer than direct deposit.

Three months moved off the 20th in 2026. June 20 and September 20 were weekend days, so those payments went out on Friday, June 19 and Friday, September 18. December is set early for a different reason, explained below.

The same day also carries any provincial child benefit the CRA runs for your province, plus the Child Disability Benefit if a child qualifies. Quebec's Family Allowance is not one of them: Retraite Québec pays it separately at the start of the month or quarter, so the last 2026 quarterly payment came on October 1 and monthly recipients are paid next on November 2 and December 1 (Retraite Québec, payment dates). Next CCB payment date

As of October 20, 2026, the October payment has been issued and two Canada Child Benefit payments remain this year: November 20 and December 11. Both belong to the July 2026 to June 2027 benefit year, so the amount should match what you received from July to October unless your family situation changed. If the October 20 deposit is not in your account, wait 5 working days, through Tuesday, October 27, and contact the CRA from October 28 if it is still missing.

If you reported a change such as a new partner, a separation or a child moving in, the CRA sends a notice of redetermination and the next payment after it may be different. The notice shows the new monthly amount and the months it covers.

Why is the December CCB payment early?

The December CCB is paid on December 11, 2026, more than a week before the usual date. The CRA schedules the last payment of the year ahead of the holiday period, when banks and mail slow down, and the schedule has followed this pattern in past years.

Canada Child Benefit payment dates for 2027: status

The CRA had not published any 2027 CCB payment dates as of October 20, 2026. Its payment dates page and the Government of Canada benefits calendar list 2026 only. The next year's dates are normally added late in the year, so check back in November or December.

Until then, the table below is a projection, not an official schedule. Method: we took the 20th of each month in 2027 and moved it to the Friday before when it falls on a weekend, which matches how the 2026 dates were set. December is left blank because the CRA picks an early December date each year and that choice cannot be predicted from the calendar.

CCB payment schedule for small amounts: the $240 lump sum

Not everyone gets twelve monthly deposits. If your total CCB for the benefit year works out to less than $240, the CRA pays the whole year at once with the July payment and nothing more until the next July.

This mainly affects families with higher incomes and one child. For example, with one child aged 6 to 17, the yearly amount drops below $240 once adjusted family net income passes about $192,847. Run your own figures in the CCB calculator to see whether you are paid monthly or once.

What to do if your CCB is not on the payment date

1. Check your bank account again the next business day. Deposits can post later in the day depending on your bank.
2. Sign in to your CRA account and open Benefits and credits. It shows the payment amount, the date issued and whether it went by direct deposit or cheque.
3. Look for a recent notice of determination or redetermination. A change in income, marital status or custody can reduce or stop a payment.
4. Confirm that you and your spouse or partner filed your 2025 returns. An unfiled return is a common reason July payments stop.
5. Wait 5 working days after the payment date, then contact the CRA if the money still has not arrived.
